Welcome to the website of Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band

We practice at Forth Valley College (Falkirk Campus) on Tuesdays, 6.30 to 8.30pm.

Formed in 1975 and based in Alloa, our Pipe Band serve in the local community teaching piping and drumming to people of all ages.

We offer a teaching system – sponsored by Forth Valley College - for all pipers and drummers. Our main aims and objectives are social playing at local Gala days, Weddings, Parties and other events both in Scotland and abroad. The band is led by Pipe Major Gordon Fisher and Geoff Kay, leading drummer. Both bring a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the band. We are very proud of the friendly and welcoming atmosphere we provide for players, of all ages to come and play with us. We have around 30 members with various levels of ability. This is mostly thanks to our own in-house teaching and tutors as well as some more experienced players joining our ranks. The band also has a highly dedicated committee to ensure the band can continue to perform in the local community and abroad and offer teaching to all youngsters. If you are interested in learning to play pipes or drums or perhaps you can already play and you're interested in joining us then please feel free to contact us. We hope you enjoy looking around our website. We are available for hire at events and you can keep up to date with us on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
